guest artist positions

Palaver Strings seeks to expand our Guest Artist list and invites applications from violin, viola, cello, and bass candidates. While the ensemble is based in Portland, many of our musicians commute, and we’ve welcomed Guest Artists from Boston, New York, North Carolina, Michigan, and beyond. Palaver produces five concert programs per season, each with multiple performances throughout the northeast. In addition to the regular concert season, Palaver's engagements often include summer tours and weeklong residencies. Guest Artists will be contracted on a per-project basis as the need arises.

Palaver Strings is particularly interested in hiring African-American, Latinx, and/or Indigenous musicians. We seek Guest Artists with a high level of musicianship who also value collaboration, communication, adventurous programming, cross-genre collaborations, and using music to amplify underrepresented voices.
